This one was a bit of a disappointment but it was probably at least partly because I was so looking forward to it. I have fun with any book that I can put on my san-francisco shelf. But while San Francisco is a beautiful place, these weren’t beautiful pictures. And, for 1 the Golden Gate Bridge is used; it’s the first picture inside (as well as on the cover) but inside, viewing it, what I noticed most were its two towers, not the fact that it was one structure. Also, the objects for 1 through 10 weren’t all my very favorites, though they were okay and many were excellent. At the end of the book 1 through 10 are shown again in miniature and explanations are given for them.I did like it. A counting book with San Francisco and San Francisco are items as the theme. While I didn’t enjoy the illustrations they were comfortable and most were clear, and some of the objects were a great deal of fun. It’s a board book so suitable for the youngest child.
